The appearance of the Superior Technician in Diagnostic Imaging is closely linked to technological advancement in the health sector, and the consequent specialization that has given way - even though they belong to the group of technical personnel - to professionalization.
With the discovery of X-rays in 1895, Wilhem Conrad Rontgen, in February 1896, also appeared the first radiographs in Europe, and of course, the first Radiology Technicians who, with the advancement of science and the increase in their skills professionals we know today as Superior Diagnostic Imaging Technicians.

Since Nuclear Medicine studies can detect molecular alterations within the body, it allows the identification of diseases in their early stages (before conventional imaging studies), as well as an early assessment of the response to treatment.
